Hi Ginger,

I just wanted to give you an update on how Zak is doing.

His original name was Deke.

He is doing great! Everybody loves him.

He has added a lot of life and happiness to our household.

I must admit, he is a bit spoiled. :) He goes on walks with Granddad every evening. I take him on bike rides, and he also loves to go run at our neighborhood school's field. Every evening he gets a peanut butter and ham filled kong, and sometimes a pig's ear. He has five kids to play with, and three cats (who, unfortunately, aren't quite as interested in playing with him).

I am sending you a picture of him sleeping with our most skittish cat, Smokey. Obviously, Zak does quite well with cats. You may remember that I was very worried that he would not do well with cats, but that has never been a problem!

One thing we all say is, "How could somebody get rid of such a perfect dog?" He really IS a great dog - it is amazing that somebody would just dump him in a shelter. I admit there is one thing he does wrong - he takes up too much of our bed...we'll have to work on that. :)
