Hi Ginger,
It's been almost 1 year since I rescued/adopted Violet (formerly "Moira") and I just wanted to drop you a note of gratitude.
I first met Violet when she was being transferring to her new foster home - Robyn Kunkler, who is my friend and also sister of my bestfriend, Lolly Kunkler. It was mayhem, there were 6 dogs in the house (Lolly has 2 and was fostering for 1, and same with Robyn). I just happened to be there when Violet arrived, and after meeting her I just knew that she was the one for me.
Violet has changed my life, she is the light of my life and I love her as if I birthed her myself;-) She is very happy and deeply loved by everyone in my family and friend group. She bonded with me immediately and it has only grown since. Even my boyfriend who is allergic to her loves her! My parents call her their grand-dogger and get so excited whenever I ask them to babysit her; she LOVES long walks with my Mom, plus all the ham and cuddling that follows. She goes everywhere with me and is the sweetest creature with the best personality.
Although shy, we have been going to the small dog park at Magnuson and she is blossoming into the sparkplug that she is meant to be. Everywhere I take her (and I take her EVERYWHERE) I get stopped by people asking what kind of dog she is because she is so unique and cute. My reply is always that she is a little mutt from Ginger's Pet Rescue, and I tell them about you and how you rescue death row dogs (well, actually, I also tell them that she is part meerkat because of her fuzzy little head and the funny way that she stands up perfectly straight on her hind legs and walks across the room). It's unfathomable to me that she was nearly euthanized, if it weren't for you. You are my angel! I can't imagine a life without my Violet.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart!
Also, as an addition, I recently had her DNA tested at Wisdom Panel and the verdict is:
- 25% Min Pin
- 25% Wire Fox Terrier
- 25% PUG!
Can you believe it?! Pug?!!! Neither can we;-)
P.S. - I don't let her sit up in the back window of my car when I am driving (see photo), but she likes to perch up there when we are parked so she can keep an eye out for any birds or squirrels that might try a sneak attack;-) |
