| Hello Ginger,
Lucy has only been with us for just over a week, but she has settled in so well, it feels like she has been here for a long time. We are delighted with her!
She is affectionate, at times comical, eager to please, and learning very quickly (dare I say intelligent?). She follows me around the house, tail wagging, curious of everything I do and faithfully keeping me company, even for something as mundane as cleaning bathrooms! She loves romping in the backyard, can run incredibly fast chasing birds, and enjoys the company of dogs, dog owners, and joggers (in that order) at our local off leash park - a handy 10 minute walk away.
A visit to the vet last week gave her a clean bill of health, a few extra vaccinations, and an appointment for a microchip. She's over her cough and had her stiches removed from her surgery. Although still very nervous in new settings ~ she velcroed herself to my leg at the vet's, she makes herself right at home all over our house, including on the couch when we are out!
Lucy will be going to obedience classes next month, but already knows the basics well. She comes willingly when called, even off leash except when chasing a bird.
I've attached a few pictures of Lucy with my daughters: Beth (19) on the left, and Laura (17). We're trying to get a picture when Lucy's ears are straight out from her head - it's quite cute.
I can't thank you enough for allowing our "California girl" make her home with us.
She truly is a sweetheart! I wish the very best in your rescue efforts, and hope that other families also experience the joy of one of Ginger's rescued dogs!
Cheers,
Judy from Coquitlam, BC, Canada
