Lynn & Dan & their $ 4,000 Lucky the Cat!

Hi Ginger,

Lucky has been GREAT! We absolutely LOVE him!
Dan has taken some great video of him. He loves to jump and chase his feather toy, and he also loves to chase a laser pointer. He is really blossoming into a sweet and affectionate kitty!

He loves to play and sit in the window sill and sometimes he surprises us with some snuggle time!

He is a really sweet cat and every day we are amazed at how far he has come in just 6 months!

"4,000 Dollar Cat - Needs a Good Home !!! "

On May 3rd, I was on my way to work and found a cat who had been hit in the middle of the road. Cars were just going around him, as it appeared his injuries were beyond repair.

I stopped comforted him and thought there might be a chance to save him. Jumped in the car, took him 2 blocks (lucky for him) to an emergency vet on Capitol Hill where they stabilized him.

Since then, "Lucky" has seen specialists and has had extensive care to repair his broken face, jaw and the removal of one eye. I have spent over $4,000 to date getting him the best care possible. We are paying $30 a day to keep him at the vet's office. (We have dogs and cannot take him).

His current status is great, (except) he has lost the sensation in the front of his mouth making it difficult to eat or drink. A feeding tube used to feed him 3x a day has been inserted for nourishment. The VET said that this weekend it appears that some of his food has been disappearing and that "maybe" he's getting his sensation in his mouth back, or is learning to eat without sensation. He has been doing much
better lately and is getting his feeding tube out next week.

Lucky is a male, about 2 to 3 years old, has been neutered, and at one time was a feral cat. He is a grey haired, medium to long haired variety. He has yellow eyes (okay, eye).. He is very loving and loves attention.

We really want to find him a loving home. The VET says he'll likely need to be an indoor cat due to the loss of one eye, and depth perception from the eye removal.

===============================

Lynn and Dan stepped up to the plate and invited Lucky to their forever home.

This is what I call a very compassionate rescue and I thank them for adopting Lucky! Below is what they had to say:

Hello Ginger!!

Lucky is doing great! He is still hard to approach, but he hangs out with us even if we have people over. He loves to play and sit in the window sill, and sometimes he surprises us with some snuggle time! He is a really sweet cat and every day we are amazed at how far he has come in just 6 months!

6 Months later......

Here are some recent shots of Lucky. He is doing so well!! he has recently started to come up to us if we call him. Of course he wants his scratches in return. ;~)
